Predictive simulation software as Internet Application

New internet application of process simulation software for SME dairy companies. Availability of process simulation software for the food industry through the Internet has not been done before and is beyond state-of-the-art.

NIZO food research aims at the development of predictive models as Internet Application. Availability of process simulation software for the food industry through the Internet has not been done before and is beyond state-of-the-art.

In a cooperative EU CRAFT project MILQ-QC-TOOL, NIZO food research developed in cooperation with partner Wirelessinfo (http://www.wirelessinfo.cz) an internet application of its NIZO Premia process simulation software for small and medium-sized dairy companies (SMEs). The project is coordinated by the Kaasmakerij Van Dijk (www.dorothea.nl).

Application of predictive models at SMEs through employees of SMEs is new. Until now only large companies, universities and scientific institutes have used predictive models, usually for research and product development and sometimes for process optimisation.

The current web application involves process simulation software of heat treatment processes (for example cheese milk pasteurization) in the dairy industry.
For the SMEs this means that their heat treatment is maximised with respect to product quality safety whereas production costs are minimised.

More information on the EU project can be found on the website http://www.milq.org
The web application itself can be found at http://websim.milq.org
