NIZO food research has in recent years successfully targeted the international market and explicitly expanded its activities in the food industry beyond dairy to include the entire range of food products. In 2003 this process led to the further independence of NIZO, which resulted in the forming of a holding structure.

Since that time the Board of Commissioners of NIZO food research B.V. comprises of 4 members:

• Mr W.S.J.M. Buck (Board member, Management Royal Friesland Foods)
• Mr L.J. Berlik (Executive Vice President of ICI, CEO of Uniqema)
• Mr J.L. Oosterveld (CEO of DOC Cheese)
